These 12 steps will boost battery life of your Smartphone


In today smartphones there is a lots of feature, services, apps which does not let smartphones battery to last longer especially when you are out for any work. But there is a way that you can follow to make your smartphones battery to stay longer in comparison to others.

1.Using the right wallpaper

Using the right wallpaper can save your battery. Infact, Black wallpaper can increase your battery life, especially in those smartphones which have AMOLED screen because AMOLED screens only illuminate the colored pixels and black pixels are unlit, so there is a less power consume to light them up, in this way you can save the battery a little bit.

2. Doze Mode

Doze mode has been much improved in Nougat, formerly it was around since Android Marshmallow. You can use Doze while you're on the go, the screen just needs to be off to work.

Doze mode shuts down all things that you are not using depending on how long it has been since you've use your phone. Network connection is severed and syncing only happen during specific intervals. Services like GPS, Wi-Fi, scanning, sync stops when you are away from your phone a bit longer.

3. Turn Google hotwords off

Just stop your smartphones from always listening, OK Google voice searching probably be you're favoruite voice command but the problem is that it can consume a lot of battery especially when you actually don't use it or you occasionally use it.

To stop it just go to Google settings from your app drawer and tap Voice heading. On the next page select OK Google detection, untick all the boxes, now you're done.

4. Don't let your app outdated

Always keep your apps updated because there is a reason why developer regularly update apps, it can be for the memory or battery optimization. Keeping your apps updated also means you have the best optimization available. Uninstall the apps you do not use as they can consume some amount of RAM and battery life.

You can go through each app to check if they are optimized for battery life. You can do it easily just go to settings and tap battery, from there hit the menu button ( they may be three dots at the top right of your screen) and go to battery optimization. From here you can see which apps are optimized and change them.

5. Don't use adaptive or auto brightness

Using adaptive or auto brightness may sound useful but it is actually is a way brighter than you really need. It is better if you set the brightness to a level that is low but comfortable and increase it when necessary.

To set this go to quick settings and you should see Auto with a box above and a checkmark in it. Uncheck this box and your auto will be off. However in some devices you might need to go into the settings then tap Display, from there you should see brightness level and in it you will find the auto settings.


6. Turn off vibrate and Haptic feedback to save battery

You should switch off the vibrate until you really need the added awareness as it takes more power to vibrate then to ring or sounds. Turn off Haptic feedback too as it does not add anything to your experience rather than draining battery.


7. Set to 'Do not Disturb' or 'Sleep' schedule

 Set sleep time to switch off Wi-Fi and mobile data, when you don't need them.You can put your device to not ring, vibrate or connect to the internet while you are at work. There is a feature named Do not Disturb in many phones just for this reason.

You can switch your phone to flight mode or airplane mode when you are asleep or at important meeting.

8. You need not to be connected 24 x 7

Turn off the mobile data, Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi in the case you don't need them. You may turn off location data as this will increase battery on your Android smartphones.

If you use Wi-Fi continuously at home or at work then it makes sense to keep set your Wi-Fi to 'Always on during sleep' as it takes more power in Wi-Fi reconnecting every time you make your smartphones.

9. Don't get overload by widgets

Remove all the widgets which you don't use, they looks good and are useful also at some extent but if you do not use it regularly then you should remove it. Its a battery draining and if you remove it then you can increase battery backup of your phones.

Remove the widgets, especially those which consume or work on internet as they consume more battery with respect to the widgets which work offline.

10. Try the battery saving features on your phones

Nearby in all ROM, whether its Android, OEM UIs such as TouchWiz, or custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, have a settings in the menu of battery saving. You should use them as they are optimized for your smartphones only and can give you the best battery backup and performance.

11. Don't get into trap of Auto-sync

For Google accounts turn off auto-syncing. Just go to settings and Google account and turn off auto-sync if you do not need every Google account to updated everytime. There are some apps like email which lets you manually refresh when you launch them, rather than running multiple auto-refreshes all the day even when you not need them to.
